At a Special Meeting of the Council on 18
February 2021 delegated authority was given to the Assistant
Director Law and Governance (the Returning Officer) to change the
location of polling places in the event that a designated polling
place is no longer available or suitable.
The following designated polling stations in the Bank Top and
Lascelles, Cockerton and Mowden Wards are no longer
available:
Rydal Academy, Rydal Road, Darlington,
Holy Family RC Primary School, Prior Street,
Darlington and Mowden Junior School, Conyers Avenue,
Darlington.
The Returning Officer has identified alternative polling places,
these are:
King William Street Community Centre, King William Street,
Darlington
St. John’s Church of England Academy, Fenby Avenue,
Darlington
Cockerton Library, Woodland Road, Darlington
The Mowden Pub Staindrop Road, Darlington
