From week commencing 20 April 2020 the number
of available cremation slots was increased from 58 to 75 per week
to cope with the potential increased demand from COVID-19.
Following a reduction in cases and deaths, demand has reduced to
between 40%-50% therefore from week commencing 6 July 2020, the
number of available cremations per week will return to normal
capacity of 58.
Financial/staffing/health & safety (incl virus transmission risks)/service delivery impacts/other risks and impacts considered:
To reduce number of cremations per week back
to 58 from week commencing 6 July 2020.
Reason: Return service to normal capacity.
Continue at increased capacity for longer,
which is now not required. There is the ability to increase the
number of cremations again if required.
