Request to waive contract procedure rules in
respect of the extension of a contract for supported living for
young people leaving care.
The contract was awarded following a full open procurement exercise
in 2015. The service provision is the only commissioned home for
young people leaving care in Darlington and forms an integral part
of the accomodation and support options for young people.
That the contract procedure rules be waived in
respect of the contract with Keys Group for supported living for
young people leaving care, at an annual cost of £82,000 for
an extension period of 18 months.
Reason - This service provision is the only commissioned home for
young people leaving care in Darlington.
No other alternative option was considered -
the extension is to enable a thematic review, aligned to a range of
connected services, to be undertaken.
