Tees Valley Combined Authority – consent to statutory orders

22/08/2019 - Tees Valley Combined Authority – consent to statutory orders

To consent to the Tees Valley Combined Authority (Functions) Order 2017 and the Tees Valley Combined Authority (Functions and Amendment) Order 2017 to be laid before Parliament.

Note this is an urgent decision. The legislative timetable requires the constituent Local Authorities to consent to the proposed orders to be laid in Parliament on the week beginning 23 January 2017 (functions Order) and 6 February 2016 (Functions and Amendment Order) if the timetable for mayoral elections in May 2017 is to be met.

Consent from the constituent councils of the Tees Valley is required by Government before legislation setting out the devolved powers and governance arrangements for the Tees Valley Combined Authority can be laid before Parliament.

To give effect to decisions made by Council and Cabinet.
